Drum Roll please.....

Hello,  I've had a dream for a long time, ever since I was a child to play the drums.  I remember asking my mother for a set of drums, her answer was - "over my dead body"!   That didn't stop me from dreaming.  :)    That dream became a reality just a few days ago.    We found the drums at our local thrift/antique shop.   They were in pretty good condition, the only thing is the crash cymbal is a little dented, but other than that they sounded good.    We got a reduced price for the complete set.  And well, I was a happy camper.   Our house isn't very big, just wish we had a basement. lol... as when I play its rather loud.    These drum heads didn't come tuned, I had no idea they needed tuning!   So we need to get a drum key.     Just like at work I needed to learn the register, so it is with the drums... patience is the key in learning to play.   And no I don't know how to read music, I play by ear mostly.    And no, I don't play them at night.    Learning to play the drums helps to work out the pinched nerve that is located in my right shoulder.   Believe it or not it does help.  Who would have thought, of the benefits.  :)     You know, back when I was in the 7th grade, I learned how to play tennis... I didn't know the sport all that well, but I learned, and as I played I enjoyed it.   I played tennis for many years.   It was a great stress reliever.

It's thundering right now, lots of rain headed our way.  It felt like Spring had sprung earlier as we headed out to run some errands without coats.   More snow and ice is coming in later this week - ugh.

Okay, I will let you go, time to get some sleep.

Blessings to you, Mary

How strange...

 Hello fellow crafters,

If you are wondering why I haven't posted a photo of a card made with the frogs, its because my printer decided to mess up.   Let me explain,  we purchased our printer in 2018, it was an HP Envy.  We decided it might be a good thing if we signed up for the monthly ink delivery plan,  which was about 4.99 a month, based on how many pages that were printed.    Ink delivery what a concept.   After all who wants to pay outrageous prices for ink refill cartridges.    Anyway, over the years things ran smoothly.   Until about a month ago we noticed that a white line showing up in photos that were printed, we tried everything we knew to do to find out why this was happening.   So, with this going on we figured that it was time to stop the ink delivery,  we received an email stating that since we had decided to cut off the ink delivery that our printer would be shutting down on February the 18th.   Whatt!!   How could this happen??    I didn't think ahead of time to "rush print" a bunch of things.    We've always been able to get other printers in the past to work again by resetting them.   Which is what hubby tried to do with this one, but nothing he tried worked.  After reading and researching online how to trouble shoot this type of printer after being "forced" to shut down by a delivery service,  we then found out in order to reset the printer we needed to put in the original ink cartridges that came with the printer.   Hmmmm...  does anyone ever think about keeping empty cartridges from that many years ago??   Umm no.      We just think it is very strange that a company can "control" the use of a printer by simply cutting off the use of the ink.

This post is just based on our findings, and what we tried to do to make the printer work again.   But hey, the printer was probably on its way out anyway...     what I really need is a printer that does well in printing out old photos and such.   We are thinking of getting an Epson Tank Printer.   I think that's the brand.     And yes, we will be paying those "wonderful prices" for ink.   ;)

Until next post,  hugs, Mary

Houston we have a problem

We have a problem with the Freebie page not sure why it wont come up as a regular page, it seems like its in the edit mode.   Okay, well I just woke up, I will see to this problem later on today.  I may have to bring the freebies to the front (home) page.   When I'm in edit mode it shows the buttons to update, and I'm clicking on that button but nothing happens.  So thank you Maxine, for pointing that out.   Wowzers.

This weekend is the big game.... We've never been sports fans, so that won't effect us. lol     By the looks of the weather today, snow must be on the menu.   I don't remember ordering any snow.  :)   See ya later gators, have a crafty weekend.  Hug, Mary

Gribbit, gribbit

Gribbit, means "hello"...   here is a cute little drawing of a frog couple.  My inspiration came from it being so close to Valentines Day.

This one won't be offered for free.   I will at some point create a card using this image, but for now its just outlined.
The name of this image is simply... Gribbit.
Here's "hopping" you have a great crafty weekend.

New page

Hello crafty friends,  I would like to Welcome our new followers thank you for following my lil' ol' blog.

I have added a new page on my blog, Freebie Friday.   I do have some guidelines set up in order to use my images, cause even though I no longer have an online shop I am still a designer of Createful Heart Designs.  :)

I have been tossing around some ideas of opening up another shop, but for now I am taking some time off.   I don't know that I will ever have another online card challenge it was fun while it lasted but I am way too busy with my job.    When I do decide to get things going again with a shop, I will be sure to let you all know.  The best place to find that info would be on this blog, as I am streamlining things a bit.

Okay, hubs will be home in a few hours, and I have to get thinking about dinner.  Since its a "soupy" kind of day with lots of rain showers, makes me think of having soup.   :)

Have a good day,  Hugs Mary

Wittle firefly

I cannot resist wittle creatures like fireflies!  Catching them when I was little and keeping them in a jar was just something magical.   Renea Bouquets has the kit to create those neat memories.   Renea has created these fireflies in such a cute and adorable way!   Of course when I am using glue it doesn't matter if I'm careful or not, the glue seems to ooze out no matter what, so for the bottom firefly I needed to add in more flowers from my own stash and it seems to work out perfectly.  I used Beacon 3-in-1 craft glue, but you might want to use hot glue.   I didn't want to risk burning my fingers just to glue these down.   Now in the kit, you could add a name or word not more than 6 letters, I selected the word Grace because I am always reminded of God's grace towards me.    Eph. 2:8-9    I may add the letters in later, but to show you how this can look I just had to finish it tonight.    And yes, its nearly 3:00 AM.   This was a very easy and fun craft.   I love the touch of whimsy.  :)

Let me know what you thought of this project, leave a comment.   Thanks.

Hugs, Mary
