Happy Day Flowers

Hello Crafting Buddies,    This evening I felt inspired to listen to some soothing music and to work on a craft, my project is - "Happy Day Flowers"  This is a stamped image from Stampendous, and one I found at a local flea market.   These reminded me of Coneflowers that used to grow in my summer garden.   I wanted to give them a "wash" of color using a water brush and water color pencils and Distress Crayons ~ I think it turned out lovely.   I then used some netting from a vintage wedding dress and tied with a soft green trim, with the words stamped: Happy Day.   The butterfly is made of wood,  this was ordered online.  The green paper background is  from my stash.   While the colors of the petals remind me of Autumn or late Summer, I wanted to give my card the feel of a pretty Summer garden.  The words are stamped, with a light "wash" of color in the background.

Thank you for stopping by ~ please leave a comment, it will inspire me to create more cards.   Hugs, Mary ♥♥

Beary Merry Christmas - March Challenge

Hello Crafters!  Welcome to a new Challenge at CCAYR  the theme for  March is:  Three French Hens-THREE of something OR French sentiment

I decided to use the Beary Merry Christmas stamp by Penny Black

If you look closely to the words it looks smeared but its only showing up in the photo, not on the actual card.   I used Prisma pencils to do the coloring.  And just a hint of moon dust on the star which does not show up,  (frowny face).    I like the clean and simple look to this card.

Thank you so much for coming by to visit, leave a comment if you wish.
Hugs, Mary

Frog Love

Hello crafters,   Since I was in a crafty mood this evening,  I wanted to try out a new to me stamp.  It's by Rachelle Anne Miller  "Lily & Milo"  frog stamp.... these two are just too cute!   The stamp is from 2008, so I'm not sure if it would still be available or not, this was purchased at a local flea market.    I decided to write out the sentiment.   Added in 2 hearts ( die cut).     This could be used as a Valentines card or an Anniversary.   I love little frogs, and it makes me think of Spring...     Thank you for "hopping" over to visit my blog!   Hugs, Mary

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

What's Pink & Green?

My card!   It's all about the new Challenge going on over at CCAYR ( Christmas Crafts All Year Round ) you already know what the theme colors are...  Hope you'll join us this month!

My card is a Vintage Lantern which I found at a flea market.   All I did was to add in a bit of color to the bow and glitter pen to the snow atop the lantern.   I just love that this card seems to be in excellent condition.  I'm not sure how old it is.... maybe 1950's - 1960's.  I really don't have a clue. The back had no date, or where it was created.

I added the card to a base of dark pink, with a cream color flat card base.   In the pictures below you can see how nice it looks, no stains whatsoever.

Thank you for coming to visit, leave a comment if you wish.

As you can see I didn't add in any embellishments, I wanted it to remain just in original condition.  It just my way to preserve this wonderful find.  :)   I could send it to someone I suppose but I think it will remain in my care.  ♥

Preserving bits of history one card at a time.

Hugs to all,  Mary

Delicate Peony Card

Hello my crafty friends,  I felt so inspired this evening that I had to draw this peony.  It reminds me of the beautiful peonies that grow out in front of my house, mine are a deep pink with double blooms.   All the flowers are spent now, but now I have a way to remember their beauty.   I didn't really have a reason to make this only that I was also remembering my mother, and how much she loved these flowers.

For this design I used the following:

Image: Delicate Peony - hand drawn by me :)

Prisma pencils

Flowered background paper from Kaisercraft - Rosabella Collection

And the base card is from PaperTemptress

Thank you for dropping by, leave a comment.

Hugs, Mary

"March" Over To CCAYR!

Hello crafty friends, It's March!  And CCAYR is having a challenge.   This month the focus needs to have brown as the main color, so this is what I finally came up with using a digital image from Tsunami Rose Retro Vintage Christmas Journal Cards.   Also, the card may include stars, holly, berries.   With this image already being vintage, I used vintage photo from Tim Holtz for that extra around the edges giving it more of a brown tone.  This set had pink as an accent color.   The fire gives it a glow.   So, head on over to CCAYR to join in the fun!

Thanks for coming by.   Hugs, Mary
