With Love

Hello,  My bookmark is made with love to honor my Mother for Valentines Day.  She is always in my heart.  ♥

To create this bookmark I used:  a heart charm secured at the top with trim; the background is ephemera made from bits of paper & washi tape; sewn on the sides; a delicate heart applique' with the words "You are in my thoughts always, with love" and cute cut out hearts that are from my stash; a small clear glass heart is at the very bottom.   I really love the way this turned out. ♥

I would like to enter my Bookmark into the following Challenges:

Mixed Media Project

Hello,  I just wanted to share my latest project Doodle Doo, Mixed Media.  I wasn't sure how to get started with this Rooster, as I have never worked on such a project before, this one took me out of my comfort zone.  :)   I do like how this turned out, so pretty and colorful.

You can check out the video here.

This little guy is up on the wall in my craft room.   I really enjoy creating with cardboard.

Thank you for popping in for a visit,  I look forward to doing more videos.

Hugs, Mary

Join Me - New Video!

Hello,   I just finished another craft project last night, you can see what I made in the photo below.    You know how your mind goes blank when trying to think of the wording for the craft in the description for a video, should've called it "Bee Jar"...  it was late when making this... but love, love, how pretty it turned out!    I will be hanging this one in my craft space. ♥

I wouldn't have had to put the word "Ball" on the front but I did, then covered with flat lace.   Ah well.. lol   I think it lends to it's charm.   Okay, well hope you'll check out the video:  Mixed Media/Paint & Create

Finished project and video link!

Hi everyone!    I just wanted to let you know there is a new video up to show you a fun and pretty project to make and here is the photo of the project finished!

Here is the link to see the video:  http://youtu.be/sJzd2DBm05Q

I used dk blue and light blue gems to bring out the blue in the butterfly.  For the bottom lace, I thought I had a trim that had tassels, but couldn't find any to use.  I still think this turned out very pretty.  I used old photo corners at the top.   It just looks so vintage and I love it.    It's currently hanging near my crafting desk.

I wanted to get a video out this past weekend, but work came first as always.   I hope you'll give this project a try.

:)   Hugs to all, Mary

Hi - New Video link

Hello fellow crafters,  I have been having fun making videos, and for right now I am posting again on YouTube.   I'm not sure if this link will take you directly to my site but here goes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKCR78-Kkys&t=1685s    The layout of the video is currently only uploading in a vertical form.   Which is disappointing, even though I have watched several videos suggesting ways in which to rotate the videos,  it seems that google is intending to keep new video creators in the dark.   But with all that said I will still keep creating and will not allow that to stop me.   I hope that you will go and check out what I have made, and maybe become a subscriber.   :)

I am off from work today which is always nice.   I found out that there was an opening to move up in my position, I have volunteered for that position and now its a wait and see.   Nothing is set in stone.  There are areas at work that I still need training that would be in conjunction for this job... but ya know I had to learn the cash register I didn't know what all goes on with that before I got my current job.   Of course my imagination has been on major overload.   I got so "excited" after learning about that they had an opening.... you know how that goes.... it took me forever to go to sleep, couldn't seem to turn my mind off.     Anyway I won't bore you all with the crazy details of everything.    I just hope that they will consider me, and I am willing to learn.

Well, all I have been eating is snack foods and need to get into the kitchen and cook even though hubby must work a late shift.    Thanks for coming by for a visit, leave a comment if you wish and I will see you later.

Hello! Create Greeting Card Journals

Hello fellow crafters,  I have been trying to get my YouTube channel all ready to go for the new year, but have decided to change in the middle of the stream to go to rumble.com  to have my video channel there.

It had been several years that I had actually began my other channel on youtube, and to tell you the truth I have been dissatisfied, with how they make it more difficult than ever to "control" your creative content.    I won't get into right now, but I am pretty much done with YouTube.    I hope that you will come on over to rumble.com, hopefully the link will work.  :)

I am feeling so much better now that my voice has cleared more from having laryngitis.   That sinus condition held on for about a month, no kidding.  It was bad.  Thankfully, my husband didn't catch that bug.  He got the flu shot, and I bet he was glad he did!     I am currently waiting (and staying up well past my bedtime) for my video to upload completely at rumble.   Things just take a while that I am learning especially with video content.

My husband and I will be attending a family gathering at the cemetery to honor his father's passing, today.    Then afterwards we will all meet at one of the restaurants here in town.     Christmas for so many that have lost loved ones can be rough.  And believe me, it is difficult, but I know my Lord will see me through and He does.   He did for us this Christmas.   I know that when we put our full trust in the Lord and what he did on Calvary,  then He makes a way when we don't see a way.   The Lord makes our crooked ways straight.   It's so much better when we trust in Him.

Now my video is ready to be seen!  Here it is just follow the link:

Thank you for coming by and leave a comment too if you would like!   Hugs, Mary

Merry Christmas

Hello fellow crafters,   It's hard to believe that Christmas is almost here.   And for some reason I have allowed this blog to be neglected.    I am here with another scan for you from a 1940's crochet pattern book, you may wish to download and use it in a junk journal or whatever.   :)

This one has a touch a Springtime theme, but you know its nice to think of Spring when we have a winter storm brewing off in the west sure to come around about sometime on Thursday afternoon, and yes, its a day of work for us.  Lovely.   I have about 6 pattern books and from time to time I will do a scan to share.
Update on my health, I am doing so much better, still a little bit of laryngitis but not like it was before and a sneeze every now and then.  :)    Overall this flu like cold has taken about a month to get over with.   Next time I will get a flu shot.
Well, one area I was hoping to get work done is my craft area... its still in shambles... meaning just full of boxes of bits and bobs of materials stuck here and there,  it can be difficult to keep my focus on cleaning when work comes up.   The holidays are meant to be a happy joyous time, but with so many family members gone, it can drag me down a bit.    I'm not what you would call depressed, just find myself thinking about our loved ones and wishing they were still here to enjoy the holidays and all the trimmings with us again.
To make Christmas a little bit special, I've been trying to keep a good outlook by making cards.   All the ones that had to be mailed are already out and have been received by friends and family, but ya know there seems to always be those stragglers... you know those cards that you get in the mail after the big day... but hey that's okay with me.   I'm sure there are other's that have been strugglin' with holiday blues too.   Well before we grab the box of tissues lets lighten the mood with another scan shall we?   Yes!

This scan is from a song book from 1919 I believe, I guess it was to teach kids to write their own music?   I bet.

Another scan from an old recipe book, for plum pudding

This might be good for those that love to collect recipes for junk journals.

Also thought I would share a digital drawing of a festive mailbox from me to you.

I have always loved this design, to me there's nothing more festive than a mailbox filled with Christmas cards.   Please remember that this is my own creation, and its not to be sold or claimed as your own.  My signature must stay with this digital.

Now then,  I would like to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and best wishes in the New Year.

Blessings and Hugs, Mary

Before you go leave a comment its much appreciated.

Vintage Christmas Card - Challenge

Hello crafty friends,  there is a new Challenge at Christmas Crafts All Year Round, ( CCAYR ).   Here is my card for this month.  Theme is:  Waiting For Santa

Click on Badge!

The background for this fireplace came from an old 1950's Christmas card, but using my program I decided it would look great for the card I wanted to make.  The little girl is from a Rub-On - Girl's Toys Collage.  I found this at a local flea market.   I am glad I bought more when it was available.  The other embellishments of the stars and bells are from Our Warm Christmas - Die cut card pieces, these are from Journey of Crafting on Etsy.

Here is the fireplace background should you like to use it in your card making.

Vintage Fireplace Created by Mary S. 2022

I decided that I wanted the overall look of the card to reflect a vintage feel, so I used Distress Ink in vintage photo.
The card base (what little you can see of it) is from 49 and Market - Bold & Beautiful item # BB-88152

That is my card for this month, I hope you'll come on over and join in the fun at CCAYR!

Hugs, Mary :)
